PRACTICING BHAVANA (MIND DEVELOPMENT) WHILE HAVING FEAR, INSECURITY AND DOUBT WITH TWO TYPES OF UN-AWARENESSES.

There are two types of UN-Awarenesses.

In the First, one has a defective Mind, having Gaps in the Mind function. Hence, Thinking has no relationship with the Object observed. This is due to the wrong Memory coming up for Thinking (Perception), of the Object observed, due to the Cognitive Gap. Here, correct related Memory does not come up due to this Gap in the mind, which is the Cognition gap at the least or even Sensation Gap together.  Since the mind cannot think correctly of the Object due to the wrong Memory which is coming up, then fear, insecurity, doubt, etc., would arise in the mind. Therefore, there is no Awareness of the object observed.

Can such a person having a Cognition Gap at the least, practice Bhavana?

In the practice of Bhavana first one has to understand the instructions. That means cognizing the instructions and thinking about the same. But this won't happen in a person having a fragmented mind, as the mind is having a cognition gap. Since, he cannot think correctly, it will lead to the same problem of fear, insecurity, doubt, etc., instead of understanding the instructions.

Then, even if he understood the instructions, he has to set a goal. It is also thinking, this setting of goal. So all these thinking, which is needed to understand the methods and purpose of the Bhavana, and to set the goal, would perpetuate his fear, insecurity, doubt, etc., as these requires 'Thinking', due to the reason that he could not do the 'thinking' correctly.

Even if such a person tries the method or the technique of the Bhavana, that is focusing the Attention on Breathing, can he do it? No. The reason is, when one focuses his Attention on breathing, he has to 'observe' the breathing and cognize it. Since, there is a cognition gap in his defective mind, how can he do this?

Hence, Bhavana is not a thing for the people who are having defective, Fragmented minds.

In the second, a person having a 'whole' complete mind cannot do Bhavana, if he does not have Awareness, due to fear, insecurity, doubt, etc., due to worldly reasons rather than a defective mind. What are the worldly reasons why he is having UN-Awareness?

When one is troubled by not having money to live, eat, not have a safe place to sleep, an abode, not have a job, etc., he will have fear, insecurity, doubt, etc., due to these reasons without, and therefore have UN-Awareness. Such a person cannot practice Bhavana until he finds a job, money, a house, etc.
