SUFFERINGS ARE THE FIRST TRUTHS.

People suffer, but they don't know that they are suffering. Hence, Lord Buddha has to declare and point out this as the FIRST TRUTHS,  of the Path leading to free oneself from sufferings.

Anger is suffering, as well as it causes sufferings. But people think, "He caused me harm, therefore I am angry, so he is the cause of my sufferings."

Desire is suffering, as well as it causes sufferings. But people think, "I could not get that thing, therefore I am suffering."

Lust is suffering, as well as it causes sufferings. But people think, "If I can continuously satisfy my lust, I won't suffer."

Ego is suffering, as well as it causes sufferings. But people think, "If I can be at top of all the rest, I won't suffer."

So they continually strive and suffer.

Understanding this SUFFERING as the First Truths of the Path, is the first step leading to the First Step of the Eight Fold Path of the Noble ones, who have entered to the Stream leading to the Nibbana.
